Nobody in the Gulf ‘wants to see a return to hostilities’

 


Almost all of the latest attacks in the Gulf have targeted the UAE. At least 15 missiles were launched at the country yesterday. One attack hit the Fujairah oil facility, which is an extremely important facility for the UAE. It circumvents the Strait of Hormuz to the Gulf of Oman, enabling the UAE to export its oil through a pipeline that goes to Fujairah.

So, this is an extremely dangerous escalation. People are on edge. Nobody wants to see a return to hostilities here in this region.

What Gulf countries want is for a ceasefire to remain, for the Strait of Hormuz to open completely, with free navigation, and a comprehensive plan. They want the US and Iran to go back to the negotiating table and come up with a comprehensive plan that brings peace and stability to this entire region.
